It's time but I'm not really ready, putting Blizzard away for the winter. With mixed feelings the summer has come to an end and Blizzard is back on the trailer and in the driveway. In one sense I'm sad the summer is over on the other hand I'm looking forward to working on the galley so I can make a nice cup of coffee in the spring time without messing with a Coleman stove and worrying about lighting the main on fire while trying to boil water for a half hour. This summer was great.

A trip to Lake Union
We took the Zodiac out on Lake Washington, a date night to the North end of Lake Union for dinner. We put some time on the outboard to get some fuel ran through her and ensure some reliability for this summer. Great late winter outing.

Companion Way Install.
I removed the old companion way, using the old ones as templates I'm installing the new pieces. Thanks to Travis S. for the side rails, they should fit perfect.
I measured the old ones with material from the board hoarder of Kirkland the new companion way has turned out perfect. It is the little details I love on the Ross. The companion way made a lot of sense from a design standpoint. The sill went in and then the verticals butted in easy. Screws are concealed and there is a minimum of hardware. I went with reclaimed teak inside and out. The vertical rails are straight grained so hopefully they remain intact for the next thirty years. I'm planning on the first coat of varnish tomorrow thinned with brushing thinner to key the first layer in. We are moved into our house and the shop is up and running.

New Jhooks
Back at it again and getting ready, spring is almost here. I'm installing new jhook sockets on the uppers. New shrouds next week.
